This morning I done did get some Blue Dream up in my face. Blue Dream is one of my favorite strains, definitely my favorite sativa. It’s a head high that promotes creativity and energy—a great way to start the day.
I’ve been so busy with work that my writing has suffered tremendously. I managed to secure a weeks vacation with no notice this week, so I have free time to catch up on reading and writing. As much as I enjoy my job, I’m looking forward to this week and getting in some good productive writing time.
I got put on timeout after a clash with my boss last Saturday morning. I’ve never been one to react kindly to authority when I don’t agree with a course of action and/or dialogue I’m presented with. I kept it professional, but met the opposition head on with a stern raised voice.
There’s no need to get down to the details of the spat, they don’t matter, but I left the office, because, “…you’re a volunteer, you can do whatever you want bro.” This is something that is said to everyone from time to time, and I called him on it.
Doesn’t matter if I was right or not, because look where that got me. I like my job and enjoy the people I work with. I can’t promise that it won’t happen again, although, I probably won’t leave like that again.
The punishment seems a little harsh, but what can I do. Whether this is personal, or he just wants to crush my rebellious spirit and make an example of me to all others that wish to flex their volunteer status, it is what it is.
All in all, I just gotta learn to keep my mouth shut at work and grind it out. I’m a hard worker and an asset to the team and their business, and it doesn’t go unnoticed, I know that. The game is about to change, again, in the high desert, and I have a chance to grow with and be apart of it.
So for now, I’ll be enjoying the extra time with my family, friends and my creative mind.
